For 2009 Silentnight redefined their core range of beds and mattresses to focus more on their Miracoil spring systems. I’ve recently had a chance to review one of the entry-level beds in the Miracoil 3 range, called the Charm.

Like all new Silentnight Beds the Charm contains a Miracoil spring unit. This is the Miracoil 3 unit, and the bed has a very high spec set of features for an entry level model, for example:

When I visited the Silentnight factory a few months ago, they had a very nice cutout of a mattress that demonstrates the different spring zones in the mattress. Areas where there will be less weight on the mattress will have a higher gauge spring unit and areas where the pressure is higher will have a more tighly wound spring unit to provide all the necessary support.

Pressure relief

The Miracoil spring system is designed to spread body weight across the mattress evenly ensuring that there are no pressure spots that will lead to discomfort, and making sure you get a good night’s sleep.

Comfortable fillings

Industry leading comfortable and supportive fibre fillings have been used in all Miracoil 3 mattresses to give you the feeling of luxury when you lie on a Silentnight Divan bed.

Storage options

Silentnight use the same divan base on all their new beds. And each one comes with a choice of storage options. You can choose between no drawers, 2 drawers or 4 drawers, giving you useful storage space for linen or other bulky items too large to store in cupboards.

Lower back support

The spring system used in the Charm provides comfort and support for all body shapes and sizes. The spring unit for the lower back region is specifically designed to provide just the right amount of support to keep your back in the most natural position all night long.

More sleep space

Silentnight have spent a lot of time making sure their mattresses provide support across the whole surface of the mattress. This means that the springs are consistent right up to the edge of the mattress, giving you the maximum amount of space without having to worry about rolling off the bed.

No roll together

On larger beds the ‘no roll together’ feature creates individual sleeping zones to make sure you and your partner don’t roll into each other during the night, and that you can sleep blissfully even when your partner is having a restless nights sleep.

Hypoallergenic

The Charm is treated with anti-dust mite properties and contains hypoallergenic fillings.

No need to turn

This is a single sided mattress. There is no need to flip the mattress at regular intervals. However, the manufacturers do recommend rotating the mattress regularly.
