The Chillout Bed from Silentnight
Not many bed manufacturers have the capacity to launch a bed specifically tailored to the high-end teenage market. Thankfully, Silentnight have taken the plunge and developed the Chillout, a hybrid bed/relaxation zone for the young at heart.
The Chillout is available in 2 colours, reflecting the target market for the product. The charcoal model is presumably aimed at males while the Cherise model will be targeting mainly teenage girls. According to Silentnight’s marketing materials, these are the ‘ultimate place to gossip, play, eat, work and sleep’ which is great for parents because it means your teenager will spend more time in their room and less time watching your TV sitting on your sofa.
There are 2 size options for the Chillout; 3FT single and 4FT6 double, although the Double bed is the one that will definitely become the better selling model. The bed includes the following interesting features:
- 2 moveable Chillout cushions that can be moved to any position on the bed. Additional cushions can also be added to the bed for added seating possibilities.
- A clip-on frame to display favourite books, magazines or photos.
- An add-on shelf for CD’s, DVD’s, books and magazines.
- A Miracoil spring system for support and comfort.
- An additional sleepover base (only available on the single model).
If you think these features sound (a) odd and (b) mostly useless, you’re clearly not the target market for this bed. But your kids might just be. Get more information on bedstar.co.uk. There’s still time to make this the coolest Christmas gift you’ve ever bought your teenager. Although they may prefer an iPhone…
